Our diagnostic panels include an in-depth look at both.  For example, a common symptom such as hot flashes are typically thougth of as being due to a decrease in estrogen.  However, they can also be attributed to an unstable adrenal gland, decreased serotonin levels, or an imbalance between excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters.  Therefore an approach that only looks to the sex hormones is missing a big piece of the puzzle.  Once the imbalance is identified, the treatment plan can consist of bio-identical hormone replacement and/or targeted amino acid therapy.

Why Bio-identical Hormones?

Bioidentical hormones are developed to be structurally identical to the hormones that we produce in our own bodies.  They are not synthetic or chemically based.  Because they are identical to the hormones that are produced in your body, they function exactly as your bodies natural hormones do (or at least used to do).
